CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATIONCall for Volunteers at the Toronto Green Living Festival, April 2007The Green Living Kids Zone is a feature area at the Green Living Show, April 27 – 29th at the Direct Energy Centre (go to www.greenlivingshow.ca for show details). It is a 3,000 square foot area within the show. It’s objective is to educate and entertain children ages 3 -12 and will include a variety of fun and interactive activities for the children to participate in. There’s some great activities planned including a: Toronto Water Festival, Recycled Toy Exhibit and activity area, Green Library, Earth Rangers Show, Nature Centre, Poster Centre and Energy Centre (see attached for a general description of the area). We are estimating 500 kids / day. However, since there is no show history, this number may be very high… or very low! We’re looking for volunteers to help staff the different areas, which essentially means: interacting with the kids, encouraging them to participate, leading some of the very simple activities (eg: make a hat of a piece of newspaper or encourage a child to look at one of the Top 10 green books), imparting provided environmental messages and most importantly - making sure the kids have fun! These are the volunteer windows that are available:
Depending on the length of the shift, meal vouchers and free entry to the show will be provided. Volunteers will have to make their own transportation arrangements to/from the show. For more information or to volunteer your time, email Leslie Domenica at leslie@greencarpetseries.com or Kate McColeman at katemccoleman@hotmail.com, or call 647-261-4390.
